Agro-industrial complex enlarged budget by 11 million for half a year

Food industry of Ukraine demonstrates the dynamic growth, and 23 thousand domestic companies meet fully needs of the domestic market, deputy minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Oleksandr Sen told a meeting “Food industry of Ukraine: its state and readiness for the future challenges,” ForUm correspondent reported. 
In particular, according to him, for the last ten years, the production of sunflower oil increased by 3.5 times, mineral waters – by 2.6 times and sugar – by 1.5 times.

Sen also noted that for the first half of 2012, “agro-industrial complex enlarged budget by 11 million.”

He said that food exports exceed imports in Ukraine. “Foreign markets are definite indicators of the quality of the industry,” the official stressed.

According to him, Ukraine exports 20% of manufactured dairy products, 50% – confectionery products and 85% – sunflower oil.

In addition, the food industry attracts investors. “From 2004, the amount of investments has doubled. As of January 1, 2012, it amounted to 2.2 billion dollar,” Sen said.

At the same time, according to the deputy minister, we should solve many issues to develop the industry.
