Ukrainian agrarians have produced for 9 months of 2012 year 2.74 million tons of sunflower oil, of which 2.6 million tons are exported. With these parameters Ukraine maintains leadership positions for the supply of sunflower oil to foreign markets and plans to expand the geography of export of this product, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk told.

The Minister stressed the domestic market is fully provided with sunflower oil. Ukraine consumes sunflower oil for food in the amount of 15-20% of total production every year.

Mykola Prysyazhnyuk also added that as of today harvest of sunflower and other oilseeds virtually has been complete.

“Overall this year will be gathered 11.1 million tons of oilseeds. Agrarians already threshed 7.8 million tons of these crops. In addition, soybean harvest in the season, which ends will be more than 2 million tons”, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
