During 4 months of the current marketing year the export volumes of grains from Ukraine totaled 8.39 mln tonnes, an increase of 77.7% compared to the same period of 2012/13 MY, declared the press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on November 1.

In particular, from July to October of 2012 the exports of Ukrainian wheat increased by 2.3 times – to 4.06 mln tonnes, maize – up 2.5 times to 2.69 mln tonnes.

At the same time, in the reporting period the exports of barley from the country decreased by 15.9% – to 1.53 mln tonnes.

According to the Ministry, during 30 days of October Ukraine exported 2.97 mln tonnes of grains, including 1.44 mln tonnes of wheat, 270 thsd tonnes of barley and 1.23 mln tonnes of maize.

As of October 31, traders already contracted 12.13 mln tonnes of grains, including 5.53 mln tonnes of wheat, 1.99 mln tonnes of barley and 4.36 mln tonnes of maize.
