Ukraine exports to Lebanon agricultural products worth $132 millions

For the first 9 months of 2012, the trade turnover of agricultural products between Ukraine and Lebanon has reached 134.1 million dollars, deputy agrarian policy and food minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Sen said during the meeting with the agriculture minister of the Republic of Lebanon Hussein Haj Hassan on November 29, the Agrarian Policy Ministry press service informs.

Compulsory registration of exchange contracts on grain exports has been cancelled

On the Government Portal was published Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Regulation dated October 31, 2012 № 1079 “On Amendments and ceasing to be void of some resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on registration of contracts.”

Korea to increase investments in Ukraine’s agriculture

The Republic of Korea will increase investment in the agricultural sector of Ukraine. The statement has been made on November 28 at the meeting of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine delegation headed by the first deputy minister Ivan Bisyuk with the delegation of the Republic of Korea, the Agrarian Policy Ministry press service informs.

Parliament prolongs ban on sale of farmland until Jan. 1, 2016

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine failed to extend a moratorium on purchase or sale of farmland at its meeting on Tuesday.
Only 184 of the 345 MPs registered for voting supported the bill proposing the moratorium on buying or sale of farmland should be valid until the law on the trade in farmland comes into force.

Azarov says there will be no ban on export

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has confirmed Ukraine does not intend to limit grain exports in any way, contrary to recent statements by Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk. “Have I ever said anywhere that we would introduce a ban on the export of grain?” he said on Nov.13.

Expert: Ukrainian farm companies raised almost $1.5bln in investment in two years

Ukrainian agricultural companies have attracted investments totaling nearly USD 1.5 billion, the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UAC) reported.
“Global demand for food in the medium term will continue to grow, driven by an increase in population and, consequently, the per capita consumption in Asia. The areas of lands suitable for agricultural production have been reducing annually, which significantly limits the agricultural offer,” UAC Director General Volodymyr Lapa said, commenting on the situation, a UKRINFORM correspondent reported. 

Ukraine to introduce EU phytosanitary standards

Ukraine needs to implement the EU phytosanitary standards for free sale of agricultural products in Europe. This will be developed by the Twinning project, which should bring the Ukrainian legislation to the mentioned standards, ForUm says referring to the press service of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service report.

Ukraine has increased exports of agricultural products by 38% against last year

Nowadays there is an intensive dynamics of exports of agricultural products, the volume of which increased by 38% as compared to the same period last year. A significant share of exports is cereals. In particular, in October agrarians exported 3 million tons of grain that has become a record exponent of export in one month.

Land Bank’s authorized capital 120 million UAH

The Land Bank charter has been approved by the Government and published in the Uriadovyi Kurier newspaper. According to the charter, the bank is a public joint stock company, whose sole shareholder is the state represented by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The bank’s authorized capital is 120 million UAH.
