Milkiland, a dairy group with assets in Ukraine and Russia, has acquired Mazowiecka Spoldzielnia Mleczarska ‘Ostrowia’, a cheese factory in Ostrow Mazowiecka of Masovian Voivodeship, Poland.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is preparing some legislative initiatives aimed at creating tax preferences and incentives for agricultural enterprises that invest in the creation of high-tech production and high-paying jobs, the press service of the Secretariat of the cabinet said on Thursday.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has proposed to exempt companies implementing investment projects in priority economic sectors from obligatory profit tax until 2018.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has decided to provide a working capital revolving facility of up to $50 million, and a long-term facility of up to $10 million, to Germany’s Toepfer Group for operations in Ukraine, according to the EBRD’s representative office in Ukraine.

Ukraine and the EU have finally completed the technical process of finalizing the text of the section of the association agreement, which concerns the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area. The final initialling of the text took place in Brussels on Thursday.

The largest number of the designated cases was noted in Zaporizhzhia (9) and Mykolaiv (8) regions, as well as in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (7).

In January-June of 2012, the general production of agricultural commodities in Ukraine increased by 7.4% compared to the same period of 2011, including agricultural enterprises – up 11.8%, and households of the population – up 4.4%, declared the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
